Dear Northside and Southside Families,
We know that these last few weeks have been full of changes, challenges and some stressful situations. Now that you’ve gotten through your first week of remote learning, Mr. Geiger and I would like to provide some strategies that can help deal with stress and promote positive thinking. Mindfulness is taught to children and adults to recognize how our bodies are feeling and clear our minds so that we can relax and think about the positive things around us. Try the video with your family. The more you practice, the better you will feel! Please contact Mr. Geiger or Mrs. Gettes, School Counselors, if you have questions or concerns.

Reminder to all junior high students/families. Packet pick-up for the second week of e-learning is tomorrow. The building will be open from 7 AM until 7 PM.
The IESA has officially cancelled the track season for all junior high schools. For those families that ordered track apparel, we will get it out to students at a later date.
Northside and Southside pick up times for Monday are 9-Noon and 2-7PM. Southside parents should hear from teachers if there are packets that would require you to pick up. Stay Healthy!
Pick up of necessary items for April 6-10th, will be Monday at 9-10:30 & 5-6:30. Please use either the front doors off Genesee Ave or the Swimming Pool Ramp door. Completed assignments may be dropped off at the teacher's door. Put your name on ALL items.

MHS Sophomores and juniors - The applications to be a BLIND leader for the 2020-2021 school year will be shared with you today via email. If you are interested in applying please create your own copy of the correct application and submit it to Mrs. Stevenson and Mrs. Landes by April 20th at the end of the day. Current leaders must fill out a returning leader application and submit it by the deadline as well. If you have any questions email Mrs. Landes or Mrs. Stevenson.

Re: Extension of Mandated Closure
Dear Parents and Community Members:
I hope this message finds you and your families safe and well. Yesterday, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced that remote learning in Illinois will be extended through April 30 in order to slow down the spread of COVID-19.
During this time, on-site learning will remain suspended but our schools’ commitment to learning and education will remain open and learning will continue for all students - just through a different format.
While it is not ideal, we want to assure you that at the Morrison School District, our teachers and staff are fully engaged and willing to take on this new challenge and push forward with remote learning, engaging with students and continuing with our food distribution program.
I know this is not the school year that any of us imagined, but I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we have dealt with this unprecedented situation together.
It’s important we continue to work together and support our students. Thanks again.
