Southside Parents/Guardians,
Morning Drop-off procedure reminder: We ask you to please pull into the parking lot and pull along the sidewalk that runs parallel with the playground at the Southside/Jr. High parking lot to drop off your student(s) at Southside. Please DO NOT drop them off on the road outside the parking lot, or amongst the parked cars in the first lane of the parking lot. There have been a few close calls already this year with students running in front of cars and almost getting hit. If you need to drop off at the road, please do so past the parking lot where students won’t enter the lot and go between cars. Our student’s safety is the most important part of this procedure.

Just a quick reminder that today’s dismissal times are: NS 12:55 and SS, MJHS, and MHS at 1:05.
MCUSD6 will be conducting a system wide test of its new alert system on Friday, November 8th at 10:00AM. Parents, staff members, and other system contacts should expect to receive a phone call and a text message from the District at that time (and a push notification if you have downloaded the new app). Please contact the District if you do not receive an alert.
Crossroads Church is once sponsoring their annual Thanksgiving Basket outreach. Every year they pack baskets containing everything needed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner and deliver them to families in need in our community. Baskets are given on a first come, first served basis with limited availability and they try to get them into homes where they are needed most. This year they have several extra baskets available and would like to give them to any any families with pressing needs this holiday season? If you are in need please contact Melissa Banks by Monday, November 11th and she will coordinate delivery.

Next weekend the Morrison Mustangs will host Kirkland-Hiawatha in a second round IHSA Football Playoff game. Kick off will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday November 9th.

A few unicorns were spotted at Southside this morning for Pajama Day.
On Wednesday at Southside during Red Ribbon Week, our teachers were so bright our kids had to wear shades.
On Tuesday during Red Ribbon Week, our Bears and Packer fans were able to drop the rivalry and team up against drugs.
Information for tomorrow's football playoff game. The main ticket booth will open at 2:30 pm. Those buying tickets prior to the opening of the gates may proceed to the pass gate at the North end of the stadium for entry at 3:00 pm. Both ticket gates will open at 3:00 pm. ALL tickets are $5.00 and the price is set by they IHSA.
The game will be broadcast on our NFHS network and by WLLT Radio 94.3 FM.
Join us November 7th & 8th for Parent- Teacher conferences at MHS. Career fair will be held in the MHS cafeteria fro 3-7 pm on Thursday. See you here!
