
Morrison High School Senior Spotlight - Samuel Richards

Emmanuel Reformed Church is hosting a Baccalaureate service for 2022 graduates on Sunday May 22nd at 6:30 pm. This service is open to all area HS graduates and all who want to support them. Graduates should meet in the lower level of the Church starting at 6pm and will proceed in together at 6:25pm. Please wear your cap and gowns.

Reminder: If your 7th or 8th grader is interested in the New York Art Trip next June, the meeting is tonight at 7pm in the Junior High Art Room. A parent will need to attend.

Because of the forecasted weather for tomorrow evening, the IESA Sectional Track Meet at Sherrard High School will now begin at 12:00PM. The boys will start with field events and the girls will start with running events.

Morrison attorney Walter Kilgus met with students in Brian Bartoz’s Law Survey class and Gwenn Rickertsen’s Speech class on Tuesday, May 10 to share his insights on the roles that attorneys play in maintaining order, predictability, and fairness in society. Mr. Kilgus, a partner with the firm of Nelson, Kilgus & Buckwalter-Schurman, also shared examples of memorable cases from Whiteside and Carroll counties during his presentation to students in Morrison High School’s library.

Chief Brian Melton of the Morrison Police Department discussed his career in law enforcement and provided an overview of the various state and federal law enforcement agencies that serve the public during a visit to Morrison High School’s Per. 4 American Government class on Tuesday, May 10. Chief Melton discussed the attributes needed to succeed as a police officer, the rewarding and challenging aspects of the job, and the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing a career in law enforcement. Chief Melton also took questions from students during his visit to Morrison High School.
