Congratulations to our 4th Quarter Honor Roll Students!!

12 MHS students had the privilege of taking a 12 day Central Europe trip to Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Here they are at the Berlin Wall and in front of the Prague Castle. Thank you to Mr. Ford and chaperones Jenna Weets and Jason Banks. Incoming Juniors and Sophomores be on the lookout at the start of the year for information regarding another trip in 2026. It will be to a different location.

There will be a welcome back parade tonight starting at 7 PM for our students who competed in the Special Olympics state track and field meet this weekend. It will start at Southside go up Genesee Avenue to Cherry Street then to Main Street then Orange Street and back down Genesee. Please come out and congratulate them.

Morrison High School would like to extend its best wishes to rising seniors Blaine Williams and Gavin Streets Wood as they begin their participation in the American Legion’s Illinois Premier Boys State leadership program and government simulation at Eastern Illinois University. The program will run from June 8 through June 14. Blaine and Gavin (shown prior to their June 8 departure from the Rock Falls American Legion Post) will join students from across Illinois as they participate in a simulation of government at the local, state, and federal levels and learn about running meetings, campaigning for office, and working with others to achieve shared goals. Thank you, as well, to Morrison American Legion Post 328 for its significant financial support for the program.

Key Club and the Morrison Kiwanis Club would like to thank all of the community members who turned out to purchase ribeyes, pork chops, brats, and hot dogs during the Sandwich Sale on Saturday, June 8 at Rt. 30 & Rt. 78. Thank you to all those who waited in line to receive their orders of pork chops during the lunch rush. We will have more pork chops grilled and ready to serve during our next sale at Rt. 30 & Rt. 78 on Saturday, June 29. Thank you, as well, to Community State Bank for its support of Key Club and Kiwanis Club Sandwich Sales throughout the year.

The Morrison Kiwanis Club and Key Club will hold their second Sandwich Sale of the year on Saturday, June 8 at Rt. 30 & Rt. 78/Cherry Street. Bring your Mustang-sized appetite for ribeyes, pork chops, brats, hot dogs, snacks, and soft drinks!

The City of Morrison’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Morrison High School Key Club are partnering to host a Family Bingo Night (for guests ages six and older) at Odell Public Library on Thursday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. The event, which will be held in the library’s Community Room, will feature large, easy-to-read bingo cards to make the game accessible and fun for children and adults. Prizes of nominal value will be awarded to the winners during each round. Northside is currently looking for some items for indoor recess. If you are interested in donating any of the following, gently used items, please drop them off at Northside between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Thank you! Items we are looking for: wooden blocks, Magna tiles, Legos, Duplos, Lincoln Logs, a small Barbie house, small cars and trucks, and any Barbies with clothes. Thank you again!
