I just received word from Milledgeville that they are cancelling tonight's high school boys track meet.

Today's high school baseball game against Mendota has been cancelled due to field conditions. The softball game is still on and is varsity only.

One week from today, Wednesday, April 12th, will be the PSAT/SAT School testing day for all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Students are encouraged to get plenty of rest the night before and to bring a water bottle with them in the morning. No cell phones or smartwatches are allowed in the testing rooms.

All students are being released back to class.

Out of an abundance of caution we are sheltering all students in the District. More information to follow once this storm passes and we re-evaluate the weather situation forecasted for this afternoon.

Southside 3rd graders presented a wax museum featuring famous people from all walks of life. Each child picked a person, researched and completed a report about their person, designed a poster, wore a costume representing their person, and made note cards to help with their presentation. Thank you to all to came to the wax museum. It was an amazing afternoon!

Tomorrow's scheduled High School track meet in Milledgeville will be held on Wednesday 4-5. It will be a boys only track meet.
Also as a reminder Wednesday's softball game against Mendota will be Varsity only as Mendota does not enough players for a J/V game.

The high school softball tournament scheduled for tomorrow in Springfield has been cancelled.

Tonight's high school softball and baseball games to be played at Kewanee have been cancelled. Currently the softball games scheduled in Springfield tomorrow are on. The forecasted temperatures could cause an adjustment to the schedule. If there are any changes they will be posted as soon as possible.

Congratulations to Morrison’s Varsity Scholastic Bowl team for achieving a third-place finish (among a field of 31 teams) in Bergstrom’s Stateline Quiz Bowl this season! Throughout the past season, Morrison won its SQB matches against Stockton HS, Oregon HS, Christian Life HS, and Belvidere North HS, and lost a match against Winnebago HS. Morrison’s team consisted of Zayden Boonstra, Grace Onken, Mark Cyphers, Lisa Hardesty, and Violet Mills.
The SQB episodes are broadcast on WTVO-TV in the Rockford area and are archived on YouTube. Morrison’s team would like to thank program host and WTVO-TV anchor Eric Wilson, Creative Services Director Shawn Anderson, and the camera crew and support staff for their dedication to all aspects of the production process each season.

MJHS would like to thank ROE 47 for purchasing a great updated series of books about careers for our library as part of the Pathways grant! The students will love checking these out. Thanks again!

Congratulations to a great season for the MJHS Quiz Bowl team! The 7th grade team not only won conference but also went 10-0 undefeated.
