Yesterday, Big Brothers Big Sisters had a wonderful visit to Southside for their "Big for a Day" visit. Thanks to all the volunteers for coming out.
Riverdale does still stream their football games on NFHS network. Kickoff for tonight's Varsity game is set for 7:00pm

Also this Thursday for Volleyball's Senior Night, we will be having Jimmy John mini sandwiches and chips available for $6. We will only have 60 available so come snag one, support our volleyball team and check out the refreshed concession stand!
High School Students: Augustana College will be here for a visit in the cafeteria on October 17th at 2 pm.
Reminder: Tomorrow evening is Senior Night for the Varsity girls volleyball team. Introductions will be directly after the J/V game prior to the start of the Varsity match.

Many thanks to the Morrison High School Key Club members and Morrison Kiwanis Club members who prepared sandwiches amid windy conditions during the Fulton Fall Festival in downtown Fulton on Saturday, Oct. 7. Key Club volunteers consisted of Geneva Connelly, Shawna Simpson, Emma Christian, Emily Theresa Arias, Danielle Fulton, and Elise Richards.

It was just pointed out to me that the school website has the date of our F/S football game with Rockridge listed incorrectly. The F/S football game at Rockridge will be played on Monday 10-9 at 5:30 pm.
There will be open gym the rest of this week for any fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth grade boy that is interested in playing basketball this year. It will be at the junior high from 3:15 until 4:15 PM. The first regular season practice will be October 10th. In order to practice, all players need a current physical, signed insurance waiver, and activity fee paid. If you have any questions, please contact MJHS.

The district is being informed of social media posts claiming that a weapon was brought to the homecoming dance tonight. Unfortunately there was a disturbance at the dance, but it was quickly and properly handled by MHS staff, SRO Simmons, and chaperones. There was NO weapon involved in the disturbance.
