Morrison High School’s Summer Driver Education students had the opportunity to learn about auto insurance and safe driving during a June 25 presentation from State Farm Insurance Agent Angie VanderVinne. Mrs. VanderVinne reviewed a handout of insurance terms and concepts; shared stories about claims experiences; and discussed steps to take after a collision. Mrs. VanderVinne also reminded students about the availability of a good-student discount for students with a "B" average or better. Many thanks to Mrs. VanderVinne for sharing her auto insurance insights with Morrison’s new drivers!

A dedicated group of Morrison High School Key Club members assisted Resthave Care and Rehabilitation with its annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, June 19. Students helped to set up tables and chairs prior to the event, which was held amid sunny skies and moderate temperatures. Key Club members also helped Resthave’s staff members gather and store tables and chairs following the event. Thank you to Key Club’s volunteers for their service to the community, and to Resthave’s staff members for organizing a wonderful event!

I am so happy to let all of you know that we deposited $11,636.00 in the Dylan Strong Account in Rock Falls. Thanks SO much to everyone who came out to buy meals and to donate extra money as well. We ran out of food at 6:30, but people kept donating even when they didn’t get a meal. We are so thankful to the community of Morrison for supporting the fundraiser and all of the Morrison District employees that donated supplies. We also are so thankful to the Southside School Staff and their families that helped so the event could be possible. We had many generous business donors as well: Superwash, Casey’s, Morrison Athletic Boosters, Whiteside County Fairgrounds, Sullivan’s Foods, Pan O’ Gold bread company, Hardee’s in Clinton, Farmers National Bank, and Frary Lumber in Prophetstown. THANKS SO MUCH for supporting Dylan and his family, the fundraiser definitely exceeded all of our expectations!
