
Such a great turnout for video game incentive night at Southside. Thank you to all the parents for volunteering, tech guys for the hours of work to set up, and all of the high schoolers for their hard work tonight. The kids had an amazing time!








Reminder: Tonight's High School Girls Basketball game at Eastland will start with the JV at 5:30 pm and the Varsity to follow.

Tonight's High School Boys Basketball game at Morrison with Amboy is going to be played as scheduled.

Southside will unfortunately NOT be going to the hockey game today. Mr McCormick will be discussing options with the Quad City Storm. More details to follow.

Due to the current weather conditions, there will be a two-hour delay for school today.

Tonight's high school Girls Basketball game at Polo has been cancelled due to the incoming weather. We will now play Polo on Thursday February 13th at Polo. The varsity game will start at 6:00pm. We will no longer play Rock Falls as we need to makeup the conference game.

Due to continued sickness of some of our athletes tonight's High School Girls Basketball game at P-Town will be Varsity only starting at 7:00 pm.

Last week was ILMEA (Illinois Music Education Association) All State. This year was the first ever Junior High All State Choir (7th/8th grade only). 150 students were chosen throughout the state out of over 10,000 auditions. Max North was selected as one of those 150. Max went to Perioa on Friday for a 5 hour rehearsal which then continued Saturday morning until the concert at noon. This was the only time these students from all over the state were able to come together and rehearse. Congratulations Max!

Congratulations to our MHS January MVPs! This year we are choosing one student from each grade level, decided by a team of teachers, each month. Each student received got to choose $20 worth of prizes. The Junior High Wrestling Meet on February 5th will now be two meets. We will wrestle Riverdale first at 4:30PM and then we will wrestle Rock Falls as a make up meet after the first one is finished.

Southside Elementary School is currently accepting applications for a full-time PE teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Applicants must possess a current professional teaching license with an endorsement in physical education. Salary and benefits are based on experience.

Girl's basketball will be 2-13 at Morrison 6:00 pm Varsity tipoff with JV to follow
Boy's basketball will be 1-27 at Milledgeville with a 5:30 JV tipoff
Wrestling will not be made up Rock Falls and Morrison did not have any common dates available.

It was posted yesterday but to double check and let everyone know. All evening events have been cancelled with the cancelation of school today due to dangerous temperatures.

The 6th Grade Girls Basketball game against SVS that was scheduled for today will now be played tomorrow, Jan. 22 at MJHS starting at 4:00PM.

School Closure Notification for January 21
Due to the low forecasted temperatures there will be no school tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, and all evening activities are also canceled.
