Congratulations to our MHS October "Rising Star" students:

One student per grade level will be chosen each month. A Rising Star is:

a student who selflessly helps others.
a student who is kind and caring with their words and actions.
a student who is respectful of other people and their belongings.
a student who is responsible for themselves and their belongings.
a student who is honest and a good role model.
a student who has made progress in their classes.
a student who may have struggled in the past, but is making every effort to succeed.

Each student received $10 to Urban Eats and a MHS t-shirt and certificate of recognition.

Congratulations to the Freshman volleyball team who took 2nd place at Bureau Valley Tournament and the Varsity who took 4th at Mendota. Great job ladies!!!

Congrats to Senior Emma Christin! At today’s NUIC Cross Country Conference Meet in Forreston, Emma placed 15th, earning All-Conference! Great job, Emma!

Four students from the Morrison band and choir have made it into the ILMEA District Honor Groups! They will participate on November 15th at DeKalb High School. After the district honors, we will be notified if any of the four of them have been selected to participate in one of the All-State groups.
The four that have been selected are:
Carter Edwards(7th)- Junior Band (Bb Clarinet)
Tyler Green (8th)- Junior Chorus (Baritone)
Max North (9th)- Senior Chorus (Bass 1)
Anna (Quinn) Blevins(12th)- Senior Band (Bass Clarinet)

Food trucks just opened up at Southside!!!

The Morrison Kiwanis Club and Morrison HS Key Club will hold a Sandwich Sale on Saturday, October 11 at Odell Public Library. Bring your Mustang-sized appetite for ribeyes, pork chops, brats, hot dogs, soft drinks, and snacks! Most grilled items will be ready to serve starting around 10:15 a.m. We hope to see you there!

Also known as National Custodial Worker's Recognition Day, is an annual observance on October 2, dedicated to appreciating the work of custodians who maintain cleanliness and safety in schools, offices, and public facilities. The day provides an opportunity to express gratitude for their essential, behind-the-scenes efforts. Here at MJHS, Mrs. McNeece and Mrs. Beightler do a wonderful job of keeping our building clean and safe. Their tireless efforts do not go unnoticed. Thank you ladies!!
