Congratulations to Morrison High School’s Scholastic Bowl team on its victory in the IHSA Regional on Monday, March 4! Morrison won its matches against Freeport (Aquin), Milledgeville, and Pecatonica. The match against Pecatonica was especially close—Pecatonica was leading 300-290 after the 23rd question of the match. On the 24th question—the final question of the match—Nara Hardesty buzzed in with the correct answer, and Blaine Williams contributed the answers to the bonus questions to ensure a 330-300 win for Morrison. Monday’s victory is the Scholastic Bowl program’s first IHSA Regional win since the 2015-16 season, when the team was led by its former coach, Adam Smith.

The MCUSD 6 Caring Closet will be doing grocery boxes again before Spring Break. Camryn Veltrop named to the IBCA Class 2A 1st Team All-State. Camryn was honored today at the 1A/2A Girls State Basketball Tournament by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. She is Morrison's first female basketball player named to the IBCA 1st Team All-State and AP 1st Tram All State. Congratulations to Camryn and the Fillies on another great season.🏀❤️

The Illinois News Media (AP) has named Morrison's Camryn Veltrop to the class 2A First Team All State!
She is the first girls basketball player in school history to be named AP 1st Team All State.

Open session for tonight's Board of Education will start at 7 PM (NOT 6:30).
The City of Morrison’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Morrison High School Key Club are partnering to host a Bingo Night for local residents age 50 and older at the Odell Public Library on Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m.
The event, which will be held in the library’s Community Room, will feature large, easy-to-read bingo cards to make the game accessible and fun. Prizes of nominal value will be awarded to the winners during each round. Morrison’s students and families are welcome to encourage their relatives, neighbors, and other community members (ages 50 and above) to attend.

The varsity boys basketball team beat Rock Falls 73-66 tonight to advance to the Regional Finals. The game will be played at 7:00 pm in P-town. Morrison will play the winner of Princeton and B.V.
